Kantipur Report KATHMANDU, Feb 2 - Nepali diaspora across the world Wednesday marked February 1 as Black Day and demanded complete return of democracy in Nepal. Hundreds of people from various work of life gathered in Kowloon Park gate, some 1 km distance from Nepal Consulate office in Hong Kong, holding placards, banners and posters displaying the atrocities after the last year's royal takeover. The protestors during the rally chanted slogans in favour of Democracy and human rights in Nepal, said Prem Chandra Rai of Far East Overseas Nepalese Association, the organizer of the rally. Leaders from various Nepalese organizations in Hong Kong, leaders from Asian Migrant Coordinating body, Asia Pacific Missions for Migrants, Coalition for Migrant Right, and Local student leaders were expressed solidarity for the people's democratic movement in Nepal, said Rai in a statement sent to eKantipur. Dozens of human rights activists, women rights activists and trade unions in Thailand expressed solidarity with the movement for democracy, human rights and peace while marking the first year of the King’s takeover in Nepal as “Black Day.”

marked February 1 as a "Black Day", with rallies and demonstrations,
demanding immediate restoration of democracy and civil liberties in Nepal.
In New York, Nepalis chanted slogans against the Royal regime, asking the King
to restore full democracy and return power to the people.
